This Genesis program is run by couples who provide full time care for up to two individuals within their family context. Emphasis is on providing support and advocacy with experienced intervention to develop increased independence in community access, recreation, vocational experience and adaptive daily living skills.
The care providers are former full time residential counsellors; whom are fully trained and certified in accordance with Genesis’ policy and procedure. These polices and procedures adhere to both the ministry standards applicable for youth and in accordance with all of Quality Assurance Measures for adults. The providers continue to meet with the clinician on a regular basis; reviewing all Behavioural and Individual Support Plans. The providers also work closely with other community based professionals to ensure that all of the specialized needs of the individuals in their care are being fully supported.
